Springfield Museum of Art

Since 1946, the Springfield Museum of Art has served as a premier destination for the promotion, preservation, study and appreciation of historical and contemporary American Artwork. Each year from May to mid June they have a juried member's exhibition.

Springfield Museum of Art

Nestled between the cliffs of Veteran's park and Buck Creek, this museum offers several art classes including Drawing, Painting, Glass&Jewelry, Pottery and Sculpture. They also have several classes for kids (even toddlers). This museum is also up to date with the latest technologies with a complete computer lab. They offer classes for computer graphics, animation, virtual reality, flash, internet and web design.

Techumseh

Tecumseh -- The Great Shawnee Leader

Just west of the Springfield Museum of Art is a statue of the Shawnee leader, Tecumseh created by Urbana resident Miichael Major. Mr Major has created a number of bronze sculptures for both public and private collections across the country.
